Linefork Fall- Day 4

The team is home safely! We had a great trip, and God did amazing things! Today we went to Ms. Mary's church for Sunday School, lunch, and worship. It was a great time of fellowship! We were so blessed by this trip and are thankful that God is good and that He accomplished what would have been impossible for us without Him.

Linefork Fall 2014- Day 3

Today was an amazing day! A little chilly, but we were able to get a lot of projects done. Ms. Mary definitely had us busy! We replaced some boards on the front porch of her mother's house sealed that deck and Teresa's deck, weeded, planted some house plants, mulched, moved some gravel to her driveway, and power washed her statues and the bridge. It was a great day of service!! We're all looking forward to going to Ms. Mary's church service tomorrow and sharing fellowship some more!

God is doing mighty things here in Linefork! The team appreciates your prayers!

Linefork Fall 2014- Day 2

Today was a great day of serving. We had some rain in the morning, which soaked us, but it passed and the rest of the day was clear and perfect for yard work! We trimmed trees, pulled weeds, winterized the pond, took some boxes to a lady in the community, surveyed projects for future trips, and had a great dinner with Ms. Mary and the kids! We had so much fun serving and sharing fellowship with each other, this trip is definitely a blessing on both ends.

It was an amazing day, please continue to keep us in your prayers!!

Linefork Fall 2014- Day 1

The team is safely in Linefork! We drove through some fog on the drive up, but other than that the travel was great! Today was a day of evaluations to get an idea of what we were going to be doing here, but not before unloading some trailers! We unloaded 26,000 pounds of clothing and food, and individually bagged 650 pounds of pasta! God is really cool in how He brings teams together because while this team is small, we're meshing incredibly well and getting things done efficiently and with great attitudes. We're all really excited to continue serving tomorrow!! Please continue to keep us in your prayers!!

Unloading the trailers.

That's a lot of pasta.

Friday Update

Today was another day of insight and learning...
... We learned what a quality stabilization house looks like.
... We learned what a restoration plan looks like.
... We learned what the sexually exploited and traumatized need I order to realize transformation.
...We learned about the true cost of rescuing someone from various forms of commercial sexual exploitation.

Atlanta Dream Center Missions Team - First Day

Our first day at the Atlanta Dream Center was a day of insight.  Two statements that we will always remember are 1) Bringing people out of darkness is all about being a "bridge of love." 2) "Restoration looks more like a journey than a moment."  Our first night of ministry is starting with making 100 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to share with people sleeping on the streets tonight.
